Almost full!  It took a little over a day to fill it with Reverse osmosis /deionized water.  This Kent marine purifier takes out 99% of the chemicals, wastes, and other impurities in tap water.
The filtration, including two pumps and a skimmer, have been plumbed hidden in the cabinet; and have check valves and overflow devices in place.  This sump will later house a refugium where flora and fauna will be given a chance to live without being eaten.  This gives a natural balance, stability, and cleanliness to the tank above.
With the heater and pumps running I mix in Tropic Marin salt and accurately check the salinity with a refractometer.  I double check that nothing is leaking and the safeguards are functioning properly.
Next I am coating the lighting canopy with polyurethane to protect the wood from saltwater.  It will be ready shortly...
